User Management > Profile



User Profiles in the Directory module enables editing of User Profile information; which will appear in your organization's Google Apps
Directory contact group.

NOTE: User Profiles cannot be created or deleted from this menu, they may only be edited.


User Profile Information

  • Email Addresses - Email addresses (including primary and alias Google Apps domain email addresses) which you wish to publish in your organization's Google Apps contacts for that user
  • Phone Numbers - Work, Home, Mobile, and other phone numbers which you wish to publish in your organization's Google Apps contacts for that user
  • Instant Messenger - Instant messaging type and address which you wish to publish in your organization's Google Apps contacts for that user
  • Addresses - Addresses for Home, Office, Other which you wish to publish in your organization's Google Apps contacts for that user
  • Relation - Relationship or associate information which you wish to publish in your organization's Google Apps contacts for that user
  • Organization - Business, department and location information which you wish to publish in your organization's Google Apps contacts for that user
  • External ID - Account, customer, and organization information which you wish to publish in your organization's Google Apps contacts for that user


Viewing a Profile

To view and edit a user's profile, first select the user from your user list by clicking on the user.

Next, click on Profile from the menu of User Management options.




Adding a Profile Field

To add a profile field, follow the directions below:
  1. Select the Add button and choose the field you wish to add. 
  2. Next, type in the value for the field that you have added. 
  3. Optionally, change the field type using the drop-down boxes next to the field.


Editing a Profile Field

To edit a profile field, follow the directions below:
  1. Select the field that you wish to edit and type in the new information.  
  2. Optionally, you can change the fields from the drop-down menu as well, or move the order in which they are displayed by selecting the up/down arrows.
  3. Once you have made the desired changes, click Save.  


Deleting a Profile Field

To edit a profile field, follow the directions below:
  1. Select the trash icon next to the field you wish to remove.
  2. Click the Save button. 



GSuite settings that can effect profile email information

There is a contact sharing setting that can effect what is shown in the profile email information view.  To view these settings navigate to GSuite admin -> Apps -> GSuite -> Settings for Contacts -> Advanced Settings.  You'll want to check the "Contact Sharing" section.  Please see below for a description of what will be shown  :
  1. If you choose to "Enable contact Sharing".
    1. Show all email addresses
      1. All email addresses will be visible in gPanel.
    2. Hide the primary email address if the user has an alias
      1. All email addresses will be visible in gPanel.
    3. Hide Aliases
      1. No email addresses will be visible in gPanel in the Email Profile section.
    4. Only show email addresses on the user's primary domain
      1. Only email addresses that are part of the Primary Domain will be shown in the Email Profile section.
  2. If you choose to "Disable contact sharing" no email addresses will be visible in the Email Profile section.
