Search for documents in your domain, transfer ownership of documents, change share settings and more.

Create a new DocumentEither right click the user who will own the new document or select the user and click "Operations" ![]() Click "Create" to create a new document. ![]() Select the type of document and enter a title. When finished click "Save". Create New FolderYou can also create a new folder for a user to organize their documents. Select the user and click "Operations". ![]() Click "New Folder" ![]() Enter the folder name and select the location. Click "Save" when finished. ![]() View a Google DocSelect a user to view their documents. Click the document you wish to view. From here you can either right click the document or click the "Operations" tab. Both will open the same menu. Click "Open" to open the document. Click "Transfer Ownership" ![]() Hint! Multiple documents and even Collections can be selected to change ownership. Hint! If you add the wrong document to the transfer list, select it and click "Remove Selected" Hint! You can use the "Search/Filter" button to quickly find documents that meet the criteria set by the query. For more information on using the "Search/Filter" feature, click here. ![]() Enter the "Destination User" and the folder that the document will be moved to. ![]() Select sharing options for Source User and Destination User. Sharing Options include the following:
![]() Note that you also have the option to remove sharing from everyone but the owner. After the sharing options are set, click "Next" ![]() Review the changes, including the file name, the action taken on the file and the user who the action is being applied to. Click "Save" to continue. Move DocsThis feature allows you to move a document from one collection to another. Select the document to move, click "Operations". Click "Move" ![]() Select the collection you wish to move the document to. Click "Save" ![]() Rename a Google DocSelect the document to rename.
![]() Enter the new name of the document and click "Rename" Delete a Google DocClick the user who's documents you wish to delete. This will load their documents. Click the document you wish to delete.
Click the "Delete" button. Click "OK" to confirm deletion. Select the Document you wish to trash. ![]() Confirm the action by clicking "Trash" Hint! Documents cannot be recovered via Gpanel. This must be done by manually logging in to doc.google.com. ![]() Select the document you wish to share. Either right click the document or click the "Operations button to open the sub-menu. Select "Share" ![]() The share menu allows you to add shares for users to share out the document to based on "email", "username", or "group name". ![]() Change Share PermissionsYou can change the permissions that the user has on the shared document. For this example the document has been shared to user ckent@gpanel.info. By clicking the "Access Status" for this user, we can change the permission. The share permission are:
Click "Save" when finished. ![]() Star a Google Doc Either right click the document you wish to star or click "Operations" and click "Star". Hint! Adding a Star to a document is a great way to highlight an important document. ![]() Hide DocEither right click the document you wish to hide or select the document and click "Operations". Click "Hide". Hint! This feature does not hide the document in gPanel. It only hides the document in your Google Apps account. ![]() Search and FilterUse the search and filter features to quickly find the document you are looking for. Start by clicking "Search/Filter" From this menu you have various options to search or filter results by:
Hint! You cannot search by content and by document type at the same time. Hint! You cannot search by Exact Title and Title Contains at the same time. |
